The Institute of Intellectual Property (IIP) conducts intellectual property-related businesses, including research and study, provision of information, and international exchanges, as the research section of the Foundation for Intellectual Property, thereby contributing to the development of the intellectual property system.

The Institute of Intellectual Property (IIP) of the Foundation for Intellectual Property was established as a research institute specialized in the intellectual property field in 1989 with support from economic organizations with the approval of the Minister of International Trade and Industry.
